Netbook

I’m going to buy a new computer. A netbook. To use as a typewriter, basically. I want to write, a lot, but I can’t concentrate as much as I want to when sitting by my ‘big’ computer. There’s chatting, e-mails to check, music that plays and of course World of warcraft.
So I was thinking, maybe I’d get more writing done if I sit elswhere in the apartment, and definitely not install Skype and suchlike. Just Openoffice will do. Hopefully I will find the discipline to write that way.
Of course, there’s always a chance that the novelty wears off, and I will be stuck in front of this computer anyway. But I’m figuring that, I should do whatever it takes if it gets my writing going. I think of the netbook as an investment, for a future career as a writer.
I have started, in my opinion, an interesting story.. But it is in Swedish, maybe I’ll translate it when it’s done (whenever that will be). I have no idea where it is going, but that’s kind of fun as well, it’s like an adventure. It was a long time since a wrote a story in Swedish, hard to ‘reprogram’ yourself sometimes. But it’s fun. I just noticed that it took a lot more work to concentrate when writing in Swedish, and it was easier to drift off to chatting with someone or playing something.
I will return with a picture of the new wonder tomorrow maybe.
